As we saw the humanitarian situation rapidly deteriorate, we felt that the best way we could help was to give shelter to a Ukrainian family.
More than words can express
As a sign of appreciation, the mother gave a small hand-made candle holder to Sebastian and his family. ‘’This beautiful gift will stay with us forever,’’ says Sebastian.
‘’It is symbolic for us because it represents sincere gratitude, the ever-burning fortitude of the Ukrainian people and the compassion of Polish people to help our Ukrainian friends.’’
Sebastian’s story is not unique, and there are many more people in desperate need.
‘’Whether making a financial donation, providing food and clothes, volunteering or taking someone into your home, I encourage you to do it. It might not be easy – but great things never come easy,’’ sums up Sebastian.
